The Ballad of Seamus O’Hare (M/F)

Stories that have little truth to them should go here.

The Ballad of Seamus O’Hare (M/F)

Post by TamatoaShiny123 »

In a green village on the Irish land,
Lived Seamus O’Hare in a stone house far from grand
A farmer’s lad with a tender stare,
For Molly McGonnal, so grand and fair.
Her eyes like the sea, her hair red flame,
The belle of the town, none fairer did came,
But Molly ne’er saw him; he asked the sky in a groan:
“Why don’t fair Molly notice me?” poor Seamus did moan.

Poor Molly was taken by leprechaun’s hand,
Bound with rope of a golden strand,
Gagged with green cloth, but she was done no harm
Dropped at the foot of an admirer’s farm

One fateful mornin’ in the sky so rare,
A rainbow arched ‘cross the misty air,
Seamus took chase with a hopeful grin,
Through thick bog and briar, his fate to win.
At the rainbow’s end, in a hollow deep,
A pot of gold shone where shadows creep,
But out stepped wee Finlay; his eyes did Seamus’ meet,
And to keep his gold, he would achieve any feat.

Poor Molly was taken by leprechaun’s hand,
Bound with rope of a golden strand,
Gagged with green cloth, but she was done no harm
Dropped at the foot of an admirer’s farm

“Take not me gold,” cried Finlay keen,
“One wish I’ll grant yah, whatever ye dream!”
Seamus stood still, then declared with might:
“Make Molly notice me by tomorrow’s light!”
Finlay smirked with a twinkle in his eye,
“Go home, me lad! Yer asks’ simple as shepherd’s pie!”
And off Seamus danced with a cackle low,
To work his mischief, as leprechauns go.

Poor Molly was taken by leprechaun’s hand,
Bound with rope of a golden strand,
Gagged with green cloth, but she was done no harm
Dropped at the foot of an admirer’s farm

That night, poor Molly, asleep in her bed,
Was snatched by Finlay, no word was said,
With rope that glowed like gold in the night,
And emerald cloth gagged her, knotted ‘tween her teeth tight.
He left her bound hand and foot on Seamus’ floor,
A gift of fate knocked at the farmer’s door,
Seamus unbound her with tremblin’ care,
And met her blue eyes against morning’s glare.

Poor Molly was taken by leprechaun’s hand,
Bound with rope of a golden strand,
Gagged with green cloth, but she was done no harm
Dropped at the foot of an admirer’s farm

Her fear soon faded, her heart grew near,
To Seamus’ kindness, so plain, so dear,
No hint she knew of the leprechaun’s deed,
But their love took root like a primrose’s seed.
In a year, they were wed, their laughter rang,
In the village green where the wrens and finches sang,
Yet Seamus alone bore the secret told,
Of Finlay’s visit to Molly’s house, worth more than any gold.

Poor Molly was taken by leprechaun’s hand,
Bound with rope of a golden strand,
Gagged with green cloth, but she was done no harm
Dropped at the foot of an admirer’s farm

Very cute! A nice change of pace from the kind of posts you usually see on the board.

A song?
A very pleasant surprise indeed. Well done!
I believe you would be a lot more comfortable in ropes
