So, I have my own thoughts on this, but what are thoughts on these three depictions of people being tied " TUG, Bondage, BDSM. for a while as Always sort of blended them, but this site has had a clear focus on a bondage called "Tie up games". I fallowed the site and the older one for years, and it had me wonder finally what does it mean to any of you? is that just another name for Bondage? or is it a type of Bondage that differs from BDSM? how would you describe TUG stories from Bondage stories? from BDSM stories? or are they all the same to you?
For me I always saw TuGs is more of a down to earth, closer to home style of Bondage. Friend tying up friend, Baby sitters playing tie up games with chagrins and vice versa, stuff that's a bit more silly "realistic" it always seemed to depict a more innocent or grounded style of Bondage that can go into more outlandish ideas too.
With simple Bondage stories, like that you'd find on other websites, while they can also be more realistic, I feel they get more...crazy in Ideas, from Fantasy settings, Aliens superhero being captured ECT, the ideas get more expansive ( not to say you don't find those themes here but it's not as common)
BDSM...well lets just say it's the more intimate take on Bondage, I usually see, leather suits ball gags and equipment if you catch my drift.
Website Migration Update
I moved the website to a new host, which I think will be more tolerant of the content this website hosts. Nevertheless, I do want to take a moment to remind everyone that the stories and content posted here MUST follow website rules, as it it not only my policy, but it is the policy of the hosts that permit our website to run on their servers. We WILL continue to enforce the rules, especially critical rules that, if broken, put this sites livelihood in jeapordy.
What does TUG mean to you?

TUGs for me can be one of two things. Either getting tied up for fun or stories about people being tied up usually in a fictional/fantasy setting although may or may not be consensual.

I believe that every one will pretty much have their own unique twist on the meaning of TUG, relative to BDSM and Bondage.
For me personally, a TUG emphasisizes the "fun and games" aspect of tying-up or getting tied-up. Bondage, is more broad, and can cover psychological forms of bondage as well, and it is just the first letter of BDSM and neither of these has to have any sexual or intamacy conotations whatsoever, a least not for me. But I'm sure others will disagree.

I think you’ve more-or-less have successfully identified the boundaries between the terms.
I personally grow a bit anxious with the term BDSM and the implications you mentioned…it’s not for me.
I still struggle even with the phrase “bondage†when considering my own interest…it’s “technically†what it is in a broad sense; but not what I’d use for a label.
“Tie Up Game†is most definitely the category where I stake my claim…light, imaginative, and more casual.
I enjoy the whole “tied & gagged†experience specifically for the narrative implications…it’s what I observed in fiction & media; and what I love to emulate.

As a fan of warmachine11 stories I love the pubescent boys TUG's with their mothers and their psychologicaldiscoveries;

To me, TUG is college age guys like me getting bound up, overpowered, gagged, and pounded by stronger guys
For me TUG always has an element of roleplay non consent

I share your pain on feeling like you want to separate all the different terminologies. For me BDSM is such a huge term that could describe a whole load of activities and lifestyles, although the term would immediately make people to think of the whole dom-master/slave relationship. Bondage, while is pretty accurate to what we love, could also be a loaded term that would bring forward the image of gimp suit, leather etc - and also a somewhat sexual feeling to the word? As someone said, when the story involves underage, using the term might not put you in a good light...
Personally for myself I would describe my interest as 'rope bondage', and I would sometime add that I'm into the Damsel in Distress part of it. Tie-up games would be something that I could use to describe my interest in the more playful side of tying up with ropes - I think I'd use the term to distinguish it from some of the more technical tying style like Japanese rope/shibari, or tying up with ropes that are more overtly sexual.
