Of course I’ve been tying myself up since I was a teenager but I always made sure my hands were easily able to get out of whatever tie they were in so I never actually felt like I was “helpless.â€
Earlier this year I decided to take a risk and learn how to get out of handcuffs to take the self ties up a notch. Damn the TikTok account that made it seem like getting out of them with just a hair pin was simple enough!
I’d also recently purchased a few different leather muzzles/face harnesses. I had everything set out on the bed. I was very nervous so I practiced getting out of the handcuffs with the key. I made two crucial mistakes that night and the first was that I hadn’t practiced *before* and didn’t realize that 30 ish minutes of getting in and out of handcuffs behind my back would tax my arms so heavily. (Though they wouldn’t feel it until later)
The other mistake was that I had also decided to use an over the nose gag.
I carefully and tightly tied ropes around my ankles, half way up my calves, and at my knees. All three ties cinched in the middle with a bandana to keep movement as difficult as possible. I’ve always liked that with legs I can actually restrict them in intricate ways because as long as my hands were free I could eventually get out of any leg tie.
Then I wrap several feet of cotton rope around my torso. Initially I set everything up under the armpits with just enough give that when it’s time to slip my arms under all that rope, it feels snug.
For the gag I chose a face harness that had straps around the bottom of the chin, a ball gag, and a blindfold. Now, for me, being tightly gagged is the most important element of bondage so I also stuffed a sock under the ball gag and then tied 2 bandanas over that and finished off with a wide blue cloth. As previously mentioned I wanted an OTN element so I took the top of the blue cloth and stretched it up over my nose. It was breathable and not restrictive so I felt safe. This particular face harness has a looser blindfold so I took another sock and put it under and then tied one last bandana over everything. (Leaving the bandana slightly unfolded so that the tip is also covering my nose loosely)
I was ready to slip my arms under the torso rope and handcuff my hands behind my back. I took a second to breath (to make sure there was no difficulty with the OTN gag) and because I like starting off my self ties as calm as possible so I can stay comfortably tied for a longer period of time. After maybe 3-4 minutes of breathing I clicked the cuffs behind me.
I could instantly feel my heart rate pick up. I had never ever felt this restricted. It was definitely exhilarating. I honestly don’t remember how long I stayed like that, writhing and moaning but I remember suddenly feeling my arms cramp up (mistake #1 coming back to bite me). I grabbed the key (which I had tied to the cuffs - with a backup key nearby on the ground) and started feeling around for the keyhole. I had stupidly, and severely underestimated how much more difficult this would be with fully bound, gagged, and blindfolded. After maybe 2 minutes of trying to get the key in the hole my breathing started to pick up. The faster breathing, face swelling from being gagged for a while, and my face tightening from the struggle all made the OTN gag feel tighter (Mistake # 2 taking its toll
Getting out of the cuffs is easy now, but the real difference is that I have not, since then, used an OTN gag in this particular self tie. That helps me stay calm the whole time and that’s definitely what I would advise anyone who wants to explore self bondage!
That’s it. Has anyone else had self bondage mishaps? I’d love to hear about them!
