You could try Fetlife. It’s mostly dead but there’s still a lot of people there, and it’s easy to search by “interests”. Recon is better, but it’s a gay/queer app.

I'd be interested to know where also. I do have a Fetlife account but hard to find someone who specifically matches my interests and also in or close to my location. I'm not too familiar with Grindr and never heard of Recon at all.

FetLife was specifically designed to not be a dating site. Instead you find groups local to you and meet people in real life. I know, what a concept, right?

I've met any number of partners via FetLife, but not *on* FetLife if you catch my meaning.

I don't know if I'm alone, but I find FetLife a bit... too sexualized. I don't know, it feels a bit too much nudity thrown in my face. Or at least that's how I feel it to be in my country. I love rope bondage and am into a few other niches, but the mainstream portrayal of BDSM just doesn't appeal me. It's like there are two camps of people, those who are too vanilla, and those who are into... mainstream BDSM. I feel left out in the middle because I love the aesthetic and sensual side of rope bondage and sexual only as a side-effect. I know there are some great FetLife members who are into these things, but they usually happen to be in a far off land.

I have sometimes tried r/BDSMPersonals on reddit and other dedicated subreddits, but reddit seems largely US-centric, so can be relatively difficult to find non-US people, although still definitely possible! So, I'm gonna wait for suggestions here too.

Perhaps, being demisexual has its difficulties too . But this means, I need good friends first, and it has often been the case that good friends are usually open. But, of course, good friends are damn difficult and rare to find!

Yeah that's the problem I have with Fetlife. I have no interest in sex whatsoever. And my tie-up interests are very vanilla and simple as such. I don't really have any particular BDSM interests and I am just interested in standard tie-ups and pin downs basically.

If you're man looking to meet with other men, Grindr or Recon technically could work but those are very much sexual so you'd have to get quite lucky about finding the right person. People looking for non-sexual play on those apps are very much the minority, but it's not entirely unheard of.

Fetlife is incredibly flawed, and also tends to be the best option. The best outcome here is that you use it to find some events in your area (or another area if you're willling to travel), and then you can meet people in-person at those. If there aren't events near you, it becomes a lot trickier. You can potentially find people on there via groups or the location tag, but it's not really meant for that purpose. Unfortunately there's not a lot of moderation on that site, and it really seems to bring out the worst in some people; I've received some uncomfortable messages/comments, and I know women / femme-presenting people tend to receive a lot more.

In any case, I'd try to be quite open with communication, make it clear what you're looking for.

I've never been on fetlife and I almost guarantee I never will be. But we do exist. There's many of us out there that just love to tie or be tied for just that, nothing else. Sometimes it's just the matter of finding said person. I've had my success here. I've got a couple of people I tie up from time to time. Just my biggest limiting factor at the moment, not living alone and time. But you should find someone. It was only last year i fully jumped into this stuff and I haven't looked back. It's been fun so far and future is bright!

I should note, I've only found one really close to me. And by close, I mean basically the same city. Unfortunately neither of us leaves alone and there's still that time issue to. So we are limited. The other friend is a 10 to 12 hour drive. When my living arrangements change, it'll be great, he can just fly in if he wants but right now we meet up somewhere roughly mid way. It's worked so far!

Definitely don't give up! I'm almost always open to meeting new people. Just usually the distance factor and time. Plus I've got a pretty full plate the rest of this year but in the years to come, I hope to meet more and more people. Those of us in it for non sexual play are a small group but I definitely don't think it's as small of a group I once thought!!
