I think it's our duty to normalize no-sex TUGs between Adults. Who will do it if not us?

This year for New Year's Eve, my wife will invite her sister over. So imagine, what if I tell them: "You know, in an internet forum I've read about a fun tradition for New Year's Eve! So, first you tie me to this chair, and then ?????"

Right, what then? What would be a fun party game with a person tied to a chair? What is a neat idea that I can pass off as a tradition that totally exists, because we have just invented it right here? Do you have any ideas, or any cool things you have done at a party?

It should have some kind of plausibility. If I come up with some real handcuffs and say "this is a popular party game in America (or some other place)", people will ask why all the Americans (or someotherplacians) have handcuffs at home!

My best idea so far is "you tie me to the chair, bet I can free myself in 30 minutes".

In Bavaria they have this wedding tradition of "kidnapping the bride". Once a friend of ours, a Mexican who married a Bavarian, showed us her wedding photos, among which some where she was tied to a chair. I thought she looked very cute like this. When we asked about it, she just rolled her eyes about that childish thing they did to her.

I like the concept, maybe something to do with midnight could work?

How about throughout the evening each person at the party is tied up and has to free themselves in 12 minutes? Or 24 if you wanted more time. Those that don’t get free in time could face a lighthearted forfeit at midnight to start the new year?

In honor of the ball drop, participants have their hands and feet tied or taped. Then they have a predetermined amount of time (countdown) to work crawl to the finish line (balldrop). Added stakes, make it a race between two people, loser stays tied.

Or an escape challenge, if you can’t escape in 26 minutes (for 2026), more rope is added and you end the year and start the next one tied up.

Or the New Year's Mindfulness Challenge: Be tied to a chair, blindfolded and with earmuffs / earplugs, and a gag if you cannot shut up, and spend half an hour with yourself alone, thinking about what you're grateful for in the last year, and what nonmaterial presents you will give yourself in the new year.

Regarding my own take, initial thoughts based off the starting position of a chair tie, though I think being tied AT ALL is the point here. Logically, binding you for a game could be for reasons of not being allowed use of those particular limbs?

Forced to hop for instance.

However, specifically the wrists, and the larger chair tie meant to immobilise. What if it were some form of smell challenge? The tie explained as a means to completely remove the ability to cheat, no sneaky touching and so on.

And of course, because it's a smell challenge an argument can be made for a blindfold....

Contestants could have their hands tied behind their backs, upper arms bound, and ankles bound...holding a golf ball, or small ball about that size, having to hop across the room, or down a hallway to where another person (not tied up) sitting on the floor, is holding a plastic cup. The bound person has to turn around, hopping, and once their back is to the other person, has to drop the ball, hopefully in the cup.

Yes, it's hard, but can be done.

A second is simple hopping races.

A third is two people tied back to back, the objective being to untie each other.

I would be happy with a simple pole tie with some rope, handcuffed and some tape over my mouth struggling to get free. If I can't escape before midnight I am then left tied up for 24 more hours into the new year

It's not a party game, but what about a rope bondage demonstration during a party?

In college I attended a party and a Dom gave a demonstration on a lovely coed. I don't know the name of the style, but he used a lot of rope around her torso and tied her hands behind her back with 50' of rope alone (somehow I remember that detail).

She was fully clothed. She wasn't gagged or tethered and her feet weren't bound. She spent the next several hours roaming the party and socializing as usual, all while bound. Nobody thought anything of it. Nobody acted inappropriately towards her.
