Now that I think about it, my username isn't really fitting anymore. But I've gotten used to it at this point

If at some point you'd like to have your username changed, you can send me a PM (you'll automatically get PM access unlocked after your 10th post). It won't be a problem at all for me to change.JustKindaCurious wrote: 1 week ago Now that I think about it, my username isn't really fitting anymore. But I've gotten used to it at this point
As for your questionnaire answers, those were great! It seems you have a very broad palate (interests-wise), and I'm quite fascinated by your simultaneous attachment to Zack and Shawn, both of whom could not be more different from one another. I'm now doubly curious as to your Compatibility Test results (not to mention your potential answers to the other game threads I linked to previously).
It'll be interesting to see if your answers land you in the lap of the characters you've grown most fond of, or if they land you with someone completely different. Either way, I look forward to compiling your results when you share your answers with us.

Through the lens of Steven, I continue to have a better understanding of myself. Considering myself in Steven's place, lick massaging Nick's sack, from my perspective, would not be a matter of myself as a lesser being or lacking dignity and pride. Myself pleasuring Nick would be a matter of myself seeking to please Nick because I want to make him happy. Nick provides for me, protects me, shows me enough affection, and has proven himself to genuinely love me. It would be an expression of love more so than anything else. My only question is do I have this perspective because I've embraced an identity as a SUB whereas Steven is actively resisting it at this point in the story (chapter 125) OR am I just far more tolerant of Nick's foot odor and alpha male smells ( perhaps tolerant is too mild a word, I am legit turned on by most male odors with few exceptions )? I welcome others answers to the above questions as it will benefit me to learn more about the DOM to SUB dynamics beyond my own fantasies.bondagefreak wrote: 6 years ago Note from the author: This one goes to @Msueta@2. Chapter 125 – The Incentive
Sunday, April 23 (10:40 PM)
I was ordered to stick my tongue out and massage his balls, but I didn't want to.
I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Nick was superior to me in every way, but I wasn't quite ready for this level of humiliation yet. I still had a lot of pride and dignity left, and for some reason, being under another man's smelly nutsack felt a little beneath my station.
And a very effective incentive it proved to be.
Thanks everyone

I can see DOMs deriving pleasure from a none-cooperative, complaining SUB. It makes sense considering the rush of testosterone men obtain when dominating or achieving a triumph over another male, much like my rush and boner I feel when defeated by another male in a game or fantasize of how they'd render me helpless against them. Perhaps deep down I am far more tolerant of Nick's lever of teasing and bullying than I previously thought. Again, being an outsider looking in activates my highly attuned empathy, but I could see myself actively and sincerely pushing my limits to make a hypothetical DOM partner akin to Nick equally as happy as they make me. The crux of that relationship is TRUST; I have to find the courage to trust my DOM while he has to earn my trust that underneath the bullying and authoritative actions he loves and respects me as a person. If he can do that, I'll gladly play my part for himbondagefreak wrote: 6 years ago I think we can all agree Steven complains a bit too much.
He knows it. Nick knows it. We know it.
Then again, that's what makes Steven...well, Steven![]()
While being quite masculine in most regards, he most certainly does behave like a princess at times.
I can't be 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure Steven's complaints turn Nick on, to a certain degree.
Bullies LOVE hearing their victims complain and a lot of Doms (myself included) enjoy it as well.
It's almost gratifying![]()
And let's be honest here; Nick's feet really do smell bad.

Hey @cataylor93. I hope you're doing well and still enjoying your read-through of the adventure. I'm honoured to hear that Steven's introspection is helping you develop a better understanding of yourself!
At the risk of contradicting my own quote about Steven's numerous laments, I do think we need to keep in mind that the story is basically his private journal - a collection of introspective thoughts, if you will. He shares his complaints, laments and insecurities, without actually verbalising most of them to Nick, even when he should. Nick is also guilty of mediocre communication, particularly at the mid-point of the narrative where you currently are. They both need to improve on that a lot.
So yeah, it's easy to forget that the story is basically Steven's journal and that Nick and the other men in Steven's life aren't often privy to his many doubts, insecurities and misgivings. I (we) tend to chronically underestimate Steven, precisely because he chooses to open up and share his weaknesses with us. If this was written from a 3rd person perspective, I'm confident we'd see Steven in a very different light.

I decided to quote this entire chapter for reference. I went back and looked this over again after reaching the unbiased view of Brad. Lately I had been considering the possibility of his redemption and thinking that maybe I judged him too harshly...OH BOY I WAS RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! Now before people say I'm being too harsh, Steven went too far as well. He lied to Nick. Brad wasn't going to rape him and he wasn't going to physically beat him...but frankly Steven's lie may have possibly painted Brad in a slightly better light than if he had told Nick the full and only truth! Not only is this coercion, not only is this threatening someone's life to possibly one of the worst ways they could ever die, but all of this was done without consent and under the pretext of a non-consensual kidnapping and subsequent grooming into SUB identity! Whether you are a SUB, DOM or SWITCH, you have to acknowledge that if you were in Stevens shoes, imagine the thought of you drowning, fully conscious of the fact that you're going to die, and fully conscious that your entire family and friends are not going to know what happened to you?
Brad deserves forgiveness from Steven for the kidnapping and everything that happened to him that Nick was an equal participant in, but Steven is entitled to a wholehearted apology from Brad for this.
Great story telling though! Honestly for people who might think that I am very harsh and take things too seriously, that's not my intent at all. The fact that I am posting like this means the story is engaging and it's written so well that it projects a genuine emotional response, so amazing work as always @bondagefreak

"A Fair and Unbiased Look at Brad"
In your opinion, is Brad at all salvageable as person and as a Dom?
No one is gone too far from redemption. Brad's not evil; never once said I think that even when he drove me to my absolute worst anger and disgust at the lake scene. Something about Brad seems to be broken or misfiring in his personality. Could it be abused? An overbearing parent? Something in Brad's life has certainly caused him to feel a lack of control. I too experience this as well, even as a SUB. Clearly his manifests itself different from mine, but I can empathize with it. It might explain why he was driven to the extreme of scaring Steven to death by threatening to drown him. As a DOM, he seems an experienced, like someone who's been granted too much power to quickly and doesn't know how to handle it responsibly. Like a 16 year old with a brand new car that drives very fast.
What kind of relationship (if any) do you think Brad would be most suited to?
This one's a little harder to tell. Brad needs a more experienced Steven-like SUB who is a talented actor. Brad needs a small boi. Who is very smart and able to emphasize with Brad, pick up on his signals, and understand Brad's need to be challenged and resisted. After reading a lot of comments and trying to be as Fair as I possibly can to Brad, the reason that he beat Jeremy so harshly is because he's trying to get that resistance. At least this is my theory, feel free to counter that point at your leisure, but Brad is like nick; they both get a degree of psychological and sexual satisfaction when their SUB complains, resists, and shows them attitude. The BIG difference is Steven lacked the experience of a good SUB. He resisted way too much, disrespected Brad way too much, triggering Brad's need for control. Jeremy likewise it's all so inexperienced. He has no backbone at all, no desire to resist Brad. He just takes it and doesn't provide any response for him. Both these strategies do not work for Brad. Brad needs a SUB who can give him the right amount of resistance and complaining while not giving him attitude or showing him disrespect. Giving Brad too much of the ladder or too little of the former causes the hunky jock go too far in squashing the attitude or producing a viable reaction to his torment.
If you had the chance, would you go back in time and take Jeremy's place in an attempt to change Brad for the better? If so, what would you have done differently?
This is probably a very hard question because on the one hand, I would absolutely take Jeremy's place if only to keep Jeremy from experiencing something that nobody should experience; physical persistent abuse and borderline dangerous DOM enforcement. However I don't know if I am the right person to change Brad. For starters, the first time he raises his hand and physically hurts me, it's over! I would lose all sense of rationality and start clawing kicking beating biting ripping, anything I could do to kill him! My fight or flight response would kick in and my instinctive need to survive would overwhelm all sense of rationality. I DO NOT take physical abuse in ANY FORM. One slap or punch, and only Brad or I we'll walk out of that room alive. But another problem is I don't know if I can give Brad what he needs. As mentioned above, Brad needs a certain type of experienced SUB. I am not experienced enough for it, though I do possess the acting talent and the ability to emphasize with Brad. However I find that it would be difficult for me to make good use of these skills if all is going to do is keep me bound and gagged, leave me no time to try and have genuine conversations to establish boundaries and compromised on what our needs are, and I would end up in a terrible DOM + SUB relationship. The only thing I can think of is having Nick, Shawn, and Zack there to reign him in when I needed a break and facilitate a dialogue, then dating, and hopefully train Brad to be a more experienced and mature DOM like Nick. But that would be asking Nick to do something that could be perceived as a betrayal of his best friend...and Brad would have to cooperate. Again I don't think it's impossible, but it seems highly improbable that I could change Brad. But I would certainly be willing to try <3
If you could choose THREE words to describe Brad, what would they be?
Inexperienced, Controlling, Misunderstood

Hey @cataylor93
I honestly don't think you're being harsh or unfair in your judgment at all. If anything, your outlook on Brad and his potential for redemption paints you as being quite generous and forgiving. Your response to the Brad-related questions is quite interesting. I can't expand on that too much without revealing spoilers, but I too happen to believe that even had he been psychologically stable and non-abusive, the relationship between him and Jeremy was doomed to failure. There is another character in this saga (who you will eventually meet) that would be a much better match for an aggressive guy like Brad (once/if he stabilised, of course).
On another note, I couldn't help but notice how several words like "protégé" and chapter titles have been mangled by the recent board-wide encoding errors. I'm still hopeful a fix will be implemented in the coming months, but if not, I will eventually have to go through the story and manually fix the encoding errors. The good news is that the encoding errors seem to stop at Chapter 144. Chapter titles beyond that point are all fine.
At any rate, I enjoy reading your thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to share them with us.
