Your boss and his wife have announced they're coming to dinner this evening. You hope that your repeatedly announced promotion will finally be finalized.
That's why you've asked your wife to clean the apartment especially thoroughly today.
But when you get home from work, the apartment is just as dirty as before! Angrily, you run upstairs to the bedroom, where you find your wife spread-eagled on the bed. She's wearing only underwear and has a black ball gag in her mouth.
Concerned, you remove the gag, but she smiles and says, "Hello, honey! So, do you like the surprise?"
You're relieved that it seems to be just a harmless game. But then your glance falls on the wall clock and you say, "Damn, the boss is coming for dinner in two and a half hours! Why isn't this place cleaned?" Your wife's eyes widen. "Was that TODAY? I must have completely forgotten it! I'm so sorry!" But then she grins and continues: "You know the rules, sweetheart: 'Disobedience will be punished with immediate, strict restraints and gagging for no less than two hours! Subsequent punishment is out of the question!' And unfortunately, I have no choice but to plead 'guilty as charged, Judge! Guilty for breaking my promise to clean the room!'
Of course you know this rule; after all, you made it up yourself! And since it applies to both of you, you both usually enjoy it. But this time...
You see a grin on your wife`s face—and suddenly it all hits you! That clever little thing! If she's punished according to the rules, she can't help you clean, tied up as she already is and will stay! And if she helps you clean, she can't be punished retroactively for this misconduct! And she knew it perfectly well!
