Straitjackets or Mittens?

Post by The Pink Asylum »

If you were to be restrained in an asylum, what would you rather be put in?
A. Straitjacket that straps your arms to your sides forcing you to be still?

B. Mittens that are strapped or locked on your hands. You have free mobility in your cell, but can't use your hands!

Welcome to the board @The Pink Asylum!
This would be a great question for the Would You Rather post that exists. Basically you answer the previous WYR post then ask your own question and the chain keeps going.

You could report it in there?
(For the record, I’d prefer A. Always wanted to try a straitjacket!)

Fist Mitts and a behind the back boxtie which is almost a straight jacket just airier.
To tie you up is human, to tie you up and tickle you is divine. ME

Indeed, welcome to TUGs world :)

Haven't tried either, but I'd definitely go straightjacket over mittens, something I'd really love to have a go in one day.

Feel like, looks like a thing you'd be able to spend awhile in, without too much discomfort?
(Anyone able to provide comment or this?)

Having tried both, I gotta go with straitjacket. If I’m going to be restrained, I want to be properly restrained. Plus I found the crotch strap on the straitjacket to be rather… enjoyable 😉

I am another that has tried both. And so I would have to go with both but at different times.

For me, while a straitjacket is comfortable for several hours, eventually my arms and shoulders get so stiff. Once the pain sets in to an uncomfortable level, I need my arms released and able to move around. Though if it was a jacket that allows the arms to strapped where your hugging yourself but also could be strapped with your arms strapped to your thighs, I could probably handle that longer. My jacket doesn't allow for the arms to be strapped to the thighs but I still think I'd need the jacket removed after a period of time to get the stiffness out.

@RopeBunny Yes! I will say it is comfy! Depending on what kind of straitjacket you wear. It's like being swaddled in a blanket tightly except against your will and for the protection of others lol.

Having never officially worn either, if I can't use my hands in either situation, I'd rather go with straitjacket.

@SashaMoh Yes! A straitjacket to make sure I stay put and some tape if I get sassy.

@Red86 That makes sense. I can see why it could get uncomfortable. I figure it as a part of my punishment. But discomfort is discomfort! Mittens would work well too. Can't bite my nails down with them on. So in both situations it keeps me corrected. 8-)

Second on behind the back boxtie. Only I’d rather do it in the straitjacket, lol. Snug and strenuous, the best way to be

Straitjacket all the way! But I would much prefer hands bound behind the back. Even if my hands are of no use either way, there’s just something comfortable and relaxing about that position.

Very true! But it's always nice to be trapped in a self hug position from time to time. ;)

I've actually never been in a straitjacket, but I'd absolutely love to experience one!

Oh it's a lot of fun! A cozy way to be held captive for sure! I can struggle and struggle but it's no use. I am forced to behave and hold still.

Cool! I haven't had a lot of opportunities with mittens but they are a good way in keeping my hands helplessly controlled!
