I have been gagged in many different ways, cleave gags, ball and bit gags, cleave gags with mouth stuffing, and tape gags. Ball and bit gags produce a lot of drooling, which is great, but they are uncomfortable to wear for very long. I have extremely sensitive skin and tape is torture to remove.

My favorite gag by far is to have my mouth stuffed with a washcloth or a couple of handkerchiefs to the point that I have to think about breathing around all the material packed into my mouth. This is secured with a tight cleave gag tied through my teeth. The piece de resistance is a bandana, a large handkerchief, or a thin cotton dish towel tied over my mouth.

A word of warning: I once allowed someone to stuff my mouth with about half a box of Kleenex as mouth packing before applying the cleave gag. It eventually started to disintegrate in my mouth and became a disgusting mess.

Oh now that's a difficult question. I prefer classic gags. OTM gags, cleavegags, tapegags... Depends on what's available at the time or the preference of my partner and me. A good stuffing always makes the gag even more efficient, although it can be skipped sometimes. And of course, a proper tapegag is done by winding the tape around the head a few times.

Handkerchiefs stuffed in the mouth and handkerchief cleave gag and layers. That’s my favourite too.

Aesthetically, I love the look and feel of a tight cleave gag with a bandana. But if you really want to shut me up, tape works best I’ve always had a thing for being able to see the contour of the lips beneath the tape, so microfoam or pvc tape are my favorites.

I had a ballgag with my college girlfriend. It looked great in her mouth, but I didn’t particularly enjoy wearing it, so it was always a race to gag her before she could gag me I have another ballgag now, but it’s mostly for my play partners who enjoy it.

For me its definitely stuffed sock secured by tape or by other sock (soccer are the best for this case). And the second best option is knotgag from two socks.

A tight knotted cleave gag has always been my favorite. There's something so hot about someone basically turning whatever cloth they have lying around into a "ball gag" to shut me up, rather than using an actual ball gag.

I thought I had answered this one, and was confused not to find my response, until I realized that there is a very similarly titled thread here called Favourite Gag? I had not realized when I responded there that that latter thread is not the original thread, this one is. So I might as well respond here as well in case something happens to that latter thread

And so, as I wrote there orignially

My favourite gag has less to do with either effectiveness or look, and much more with purpose for myself as the captive. To be frank, my favourite gag would look silly at best, and cruel at worst, but it is as follows: my mouth stuffed with my wife's worn gym socks or worn panties, right after a workout, taped shut with several rounds of coloured duct tape to prevent any air from passing through the mouth, and then another pair of her worn panties, or one of her used running shoes, taped with microfoam-tape to hold it in place over my nose.

To be honest, this is an extremely rare (could count on one hand the number of times I've actually done it in my life) thing I've done, and it was always just for a few minutes. The purpose: to become totally spellbound by my wife's sweat and bodily scents, while I'm bound. Does it look cool: nope, just silly, hence why we never kept any of the pictures. Is it effective: nope, given that it cannot be used for longer than just a few minutes realistically, at least in my case (your own millage may vary), and that it results in pretty audible heavy breathing through the nose, and eventually through the sides of the duct tape if it gets unstuck (not always, but did happen a couple of times).

But the memory of those rare occasions, and the ongoing fantasies in the mind revolving around those memories: priceless. Do be careful and constantly mindful, with a caring partner, if you every try to enact something like this (do not do severe gags in self-bondage).

The OTM gags, regardless if it's scarf/cloth, tape, wrap, etc. are my favorite, especially when combined with either a stuffed mouth or a knotted cleave gag.

Agreed, I used to prefer simple otm gags. Still tend to prefer the aesthetic of a large cloth otm "bandit" gag. Now I like to envision that there is a tightly knotted cleave under every bandit gag. Have found that old tshirts can make good improvised thick cleave gags.
