Introduction/ Part 1:
It was Halloween night and I was alone in the tower of an old medieval castle turned school for witchcraft and wizardry. I sat alone at a large oak table centered in a dimly lit circular room with walls filled with rows of books from top to bottom. The occasional flash of lightning filled the room with light in an otherwise poorly lit chamber, illuminated by the flickering of candles mounted on the wall. It was nearly the end of the year at Willow Lovegood’s School of Sorcery, and I was studying diligently so that I could pass my final spell exams.
My solitude was interrupted by a faint tapping sound growing louder from the other side of a set of tall wooden doors. It was the sound of footsteps shuffling down the hallway. A pair of boot heels click-clacking on the stone surfaced floor.
Priya Patel burst into the room. I had seen Priya around campus. She was noticeably beautiful. A petite Indian Miss. Her perfect smile shined like a row of polished pearls as we were introduced. Her long wavy hair was a pitch black, and her dusky golden brown tone accentuated her beautiful round eyes.
Priya was in standard school uniform. A black strapless bodysuit fit snug around her petite curvaceous figure. A black latex mini skirt hugged her hips. Her long beautiful stems were encased in black fishnet stockings and disappeared into a tall pair of black vinyl thigh high boots. A pair of black opera length vinyl gloves fit snug around her hands as the cuffs were pulled up above her elbows. She looked distraught as she peered around the room.
“Do you hear that?†she asked in a whisper.
“Hear what?â€
“Shhh…†she hissed as she clamped her hand over my mouth tightly, silencing me effectively.
“Mmmpphh..†I groaned into the palm of her hand pressed firmly against my lips.
“Shhh!†she hushed me as she cupped her gloved hand tighter over my mouth, listening intently and inquiring with her eyes if I could hear whatever it was also.
“You don’t hear it?†she asked.
I shrugged my shoulders as I heard nothing.
“Follow me,†she commanded as she released her grip on my mouth and grabbed me by the hand. We entered back into the center of the room. The hinges creaked as she pushed the large wooden doors closed behind us.
“The High Priestess Tabitha Thornewood is plotting to kidnap students from the school and keep them prisoner at her hidden castle,†she whispered cautiously. “The rumors are her and the other sister witches are using magic and changing into birds to fly onto campus and using a cloaking spell to become invisible and kidnap unsuspecting students. That’s why it’s not safe to talk! They could be anywhere!â€
“What do we need to do?†I asked, trembling.
“We need to protect ourselves!†She declared. “We have to use this magic spell so that we are not vulnerable to their deception and trickery!â€
“How do we learn these magic spells?â€
“We don’t need to learn them,†she replied. “We have this!†she announced as she held up a worn leather book, its untrimmed pages bound loosely in its tattered spine.
“What are we waiting for?†I asked with a sense of urgency. “Let’s use the spells!â€
“Of course! It’s just….†she paused, a look of concern came over her face. “I’ve never practiced these spells before. Something could go terribly wrong.â€
“You can try it on me first,†I suggested optimistically. “If something goes wrong, you can just reverse the spell.â€
I watched as her face lit up. “You’re so brave!†I blushed as she wrapped her arms around me.
