New Apartment Bondage Ideas?
So recently I got an apartment and moved out of my parent's house. It has a large living room, a small dining room, a good-sized bedroom and a walk-in closet, a bathroom, a small kitchen, and a good-sized patio with walk-in storage space. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for how I could tie myself up, but keep in mind the walls are extremely thin here.
First of all, congrats on getting your own place.
Secondly, if the walls are very thin, wear a proper gag
(of course, maybe first test how much noise you actually still make).
I am not sure whether there is a big difference between you new place and your old place when your parents are gone, so the possibilities still seem endless.

Walk-in closet, you say?
Seems like a good place to stash a meddlesome hostage.
Congrats on the new place!

Congratulations on your new apartment! Having the ability to do bondage whenever you want is amazing, believe me.
One suggestion is to lie on the floor in the middle of your living room bound and gagged like it was a home invasion. You could also sit on your couch if you want something that's more comfortable.
Speaking of walk-in closets, this thread has reminded me that I should really clean out mine!

Just your average crossdressing damsel in distress...

@Solarbeast — What modifications or improvements did you decide to implement in your new place? Did you purchase any furniture with bondage specifically in mind? If you don’t have something like it already, a metal futon provides lots of options with plenty of metal bars underneath as well as on all sides that can act as great connection points. I think that would work well for any “bed†bondage like a spread eagle, as well as just offer a comfortable place to sit/lay in bondage and struggle.
I’d also recommend having a dedicated storage space for all of your gear…complete with drawers for ropes/chains and maybe some plastic bins inside the drawers for smaller items like locks and gags. I find that good organization of all your gear in a dedicated space really helps decrease setup time. And you now have the space for it…so why not?
I’ve got a time-lock safe (medium-size) as well that’s really nice for self bondage—so maybe that’s something to think about. It’s a fire-proof safe (making it unbreakable) that’s been fitted with a spring-wound timer that can be set to be “openable†anywhere from about 15 minutes to 12 hours. By “openableâ€, I mean that a 4-digit code still has to be provided, but the code won’t upon the safe when the timer has been set. As a back-up (in case of a failure, which has never been the case), there are two keys which can always open the safe…one is in a bank safe deposit box, and the other with a neighborhood friend. If your bondage includes metal cuffs or anything that needs to be locked, all cuff/lock keys can be placed in the safe once you’re bound, and you won’t be getting out until after the timer winds down.
And lastly, you mentioned that your walls are thin…have you considered getting sound dampening material for the walls, like acoustic panels? From what I understand, they’re pretty easy to hang/install…so if you’re worried about sound transference through neighbor-shared walls, that might be something to consider.
A bit late…but congratulations on your new place!

I don't understand how people don't worry about getting stuck

When doing self bondage, safety should be the first thing on someone’s mind!
In my single years (when I also had my first apartment), I never got into bondage that I wasn’t immediately able to get out of…keys to all cuffs and locks were always immediately available. Though a lot of people use different release mechanisms (with some methods being more elaborate than others)—I never was that creative, nor ever really wanted to take the risk of being completely helpless for any amount of time.
At the time, I didn’t have any local friends who knew of my bondage activities…but I know some folks on here are probably lucky enough to have people they know and trust enough to act as a backup (i.e., “If I don’t call in an hour, I’m kinda stuck and need you to let me out…â€).

@copperfox. I haven't bought bondage-specific furniture items other than a small cheap 5-drawer dresser to keep better organized for items I didn't want to display in my walk-in closet. I've been contemplating getting a dog cage for myself but at the moment my job has cut my hours so I'm on a purchasing freeze for things that aren't needed. I didn't change any way of self-bondage other than being able to walk around in my collar, my handcuffs, and any other restraint I felt like using at the time. I also took half of my closet and used it to store my ever-growing bondage collection and have a place for me to lay on the ground while in self-bondage that I can also close myself in the closet. After renewing my lease for another year and looking a little deeper at the lease agreement I probably will get some acoustic panels in some form.
@LandNgal. I've never thought about getting stuck before as I normally have set precautions beforehand. I have gotten stuck twice in hinged handcuffs just by messing around with them before and I had to have a friend come help unlock them for me, but I'm unfortunately not comfortable relying on them to release me in full self-bondage. I've since gotten rid of hinged handcuffs and just rely on normal handcuffs and I have a reliable key in nearly every room of my apartment now. And for other forms of bondage I've done I have a couple of pairs of EMT scissors that are in the 2 main rooms of my apartment that I would do bondage in. My 2 main ways of bondage are either handcuffs, metal or leather, and mummification which is usually bed sheets, so I'm not really doing elaborate scenes where I need multiple release mechanisms/ release precautions.

@Solarbeast — Just curious, was it the same person that got you out of the hinged cuffs both times? Does your friend know about your self bondage activities, or were you able to come up with a good excuse?
I have a pair of S&W M1H (hinged universal) handcuffs that I bought many, many years ago. I’ve never used them for self bondage for exactly that reason, though. They’re not forgiving at all, and it’s just way too easy to accidentally get stuck. Especially with the keyholes facing the wrong way…there’s no getting out of that.

No, the first time was Mom and the second time was a friend who was told it was because of a dare from friends from criminal justice major in my first college experience. Which, of course, was a lie, but he didn't know at the time. He now knows, or at least I've told him and one of my other friends that I enjoy bondage, but I have no interest in getting them involved, and they have no interest in getting involved.

I certainly do, and I’ve had a few close calls due to slight oversights, but I try to think everything through and provide redundant back-ups, and I’ve become more conservative in my attempts.
At the end of the day, I make sure that I am not in any danger if I get stuck, or could get stuck in a dangerous situation, and that if I do get stuck, someone will be home before I become an embarrassing news story.
