This story tends to stay fairly grounded,

Because I've got the occasional horror or magic themed story to let loose the wilder stuff. As much as possible I do try and keep Brooke's tale on the 'normal' side. Aside from the overabundance of TUGs and TUG loving people she seems to easily find anyway.

Well that part, yes, is perhaps a tiny bit exaggerated

Watching the road, kids out playing, couple of cats slinking along in that nonchalant way only they seem to manage.

Another great brief description that nonetheless elicits a clear mental image.

And the stereotypical paternal ritual is played out. This is not meant as a direct criticism, since it is obvious what the intention is, but the promise Brooke makes is not really a keep-able one. Relationships are a two-way street, and it is perfectly possible to 'hurt' someone without doing anything truly wrong - one obvious example would be in a case of someone creating/imagining unrealistic expectations in their head that were not grounded in anything actually said or done. While it seems obvious, the lesson that others are not simply empty vessels for one's fantasies is sadly one that some people do not seem to intuitively understand.

A nice role reversal, with Brooke treating Sonya in a similar manner to how she experienced - albeit with Brooke being far gentler then Sonya was. Appropriate and even touching given Sonya's inexperience and general reluctance when it comes to being on the submissive side of the equation.

Especially when the author may well choose to stack the deck.

Brooke being the Domme will be rare, as I've stated previously I prefer her tied. And because of that it suits to have her be softer/kinder to Sonya.

So, after days of thought, knowing I'd made a mistake but unsure what to do. Below you'll find a short chapter bringing me/us back to ground I'm happier to walk.

Ultimately there is little point trying to force yourself to write something you do not want to. The quality would likely suffer, and far more importantly, your enjoyment would suffer as well, which would be a tragedy.

Obviously as you said would have been better to not do a poll if you were not willing to expound on all of the possible results, but hindsight is twenty-twenty after all, and it is one thing to think about something conceptually in broad strokes versus sitting down and actually going through all the details.

And you know, ones moods and moment to moment interests can easily shift between the start of a poll and when it actually comes time to write

So perfectly understandable.

Like I said, I don't want to write serious romance, just bondage.

As seems to be a recurring pattern, did not notice this until now (a pleasant surprise!)

Seems Brooke is back on her usual roller coaster - the one where she pushes the limits, feeds her bondage addiction more and more and more... until something inevitably happens to break that cycle. At least temporarily. Wonder when the next, as she puts it, 'close call' will be. I would say something like 'hopefully it will just be close', but frankly she has fallen down plenty of quite deep rabbit holes before...

I live a life of constant yearning for danger, which explains the stupidly fast bike, and all the noisy heavy or just sharp things I use. Play with working in Owl Wood.

And an unhealthy desire to give up total control to strangers. Perfectly understandable, but still

Matt's abuse, his careless or possibly calculated disregard for me as a fellow person. Treating me as he chose.

Quite certain it was the latter. He comes off as the type of person who 'expects', rather then appreciates what is given. Which is the actual problem with all of it - Plymouth was fine with what he did, but the thing about intent/intentions is they have a way of poisoning the actions, given enough time. And it seems she is eager to give him that time.

I suppose we will see what happens (or not, if the story never comes back around to him, given it's free form nature).

Indeed. I have to wonder how Tara keeps any sort of business going if this is any indication of how she treats the models.
