What a breathtaking Chapter! Things seem to go bad for Erica and Meghan. The Help arrives just in Time. That Peters is ready to throw his Partners in Crime under the Bus fits the Bill.

That is one of the Key Moments in my Perception: Megan is doing the right Thing to convince ...

Very well done. How you tell, how Erica deals with Slick. Invading his personal Space, challenging him on different Levels. And he caves in.

So Peters is really some sort of Fagan, @LunaDog If he is the Puppet Master? We will see.

We are beginning to get more a picture of just what is going on here. Is Peters a modern day 'Fagan?' ( A reference to a character from Charles Dickins 'Oliver Twist,' who runs a gang of thieving orphans back in 19th Century London. )

I have the feeling Slick might be about to learn a Lesson - a hard one. I have the Feeling he miscalculated: By his reckless Attack he might achieve exactly the Opposite from what he wants .... or his Higher Ups ....
