Alliances
I have already described the way we played these wars in my previous story.
There were a few injuries as the result of my last stories, so we decided to set designated colors on the battlefield to stop confusion, our team was to be red.
My best friend Ian and I were walking home from school one day on a Friday. Ian lived in the neighborhood down the road called St. James Lane (their color was blue). We were on our way to his house when six kids jumped in front of us and demanded we empty our pockets, vastly out numbered, we handed them the money we had and identified them as kids from Galrand Lane (their color was green) and Merry Court their colors were yellow).
I decided to go home instead, and I told our neighborhood leader, Justin about it. He and I went to St. James Lane to talk to Dan, the leader of that street. Justin and Dan discussed something and left to meet with Drake, leader of Galrand Lane and Eric, leader of Merry Court.
The next day, Justin said that we were going to have another war and this time we would use kick balls and our bare hands.
"We will be in a military alliance with St. James Lane against Galrand Lane and erry Court today, we meet in the field in 10 minutes. Alright. Go!!!"
The whole team ran to the field, but Justin asked me to walk with him.
As we walked, he said, "Look Sam," he told me. "You will have to wait at the base today. Everyone knows about what happened last week and they decided that they are going to capture youngest members on the teams on sight. So, both Dan and I decided to keep you and Ian at the bases with us to keep you safe." I was crushed.
We built our fort and then the war started. I watched it from the seat at base and many of our members came and asked Justin battle plans and carrying messages between our base and the St. James base. One message came and said that Dan needed to talk to Justin in person. Justin appointed two base guards and made his way to speak with Dan.
Justin was gone for only five minutes when a group of six enemies came up. Three were wearing green, three yellow. They chased the guards away and grabbed me. I screamed for help but they covered my mouth yet again.
They stopped when we got to a big camp with two big chairs in the middle of it. It turned out Galrand and Merry joined camps as well. I was forced to kneel before Drake and Eric. After unsuccessful questioning, they tied me to a chair so that I faced them and shoved one long green sock in my mouth and sealed it with duct tape.
As it turns out, the message was a phony, for they brought Ian minutes afterward, he cracked under pressure and answered their questions. When they got all they wanted out of him, they did the same to him as they did me.
The war raged on another hour before our teams surrendered. Apparently they signed some papers at the war council they went to and the winner got to keep the POWs as servants for the rest of the day. Ian and I did any dishes and much handserving before releasing us.
The End
The next one will be set in Winter.
