Stella woke early in the morning, feeling as if she had been paralyzed, and had lost most of her ability to hear. After a few panic stricken seconds, she noticed she could move her fingers and toes. She looked up, and saw her wrists had been tied to the head board. She couldn't see her waist nor ankles, but figured they had been tied to the bed frame as well.
"O.K. So that explains a thing or two! Glad I haven't become completely paralyzed and deaf over night! I guess whoever did this, also put plugs in my ears."

After a while, the bed room door opened, and Charles, a guy who lived a couple of houses from her, walked in.
He held up a sign, which said: "How are you? Don't say anything; just nod for 'yes', or shake your head for 'no'."
Another sign said: "Do you want to get out of bed: nod for 'yes', head shake for 'no'."
'Yes'.
"Bath room?"
'Yes'.
He untied her from the bed, escorted her to the bathroom, and untied her wrists.

She had almost undone all the buttons in her pyjama onesie, when she saw a sign which read: 'Do not change your clothes, or remove your earplugs.'
"Yea, yea. Whatever!" she shrugged, and went on with what she had gone in there to do.

When she had exited the bathroom, Charles once again tied her wrists, this time behind her back, and escorted her into the kitchen, and fed her breakfast. When she was finished, he took her into the living room, tethered her wrists, waist and ankles to a kitchen chair, and put the T.V on.
After that, he pretty much left her alone, except when he asked if she wanted him to switch channels, every once in a while.

Time crept by, but Charles showed no signs of leaving. Instead, he made coffee a couple of times and cooked for both of them, and gave it to her in front of the T.V.
When it was just before eleven o'clock, he escorted her to her bed room and tied her to her bed.
"Good night! Sleep tight." the sign said, and she smiled, but nodded.

The next morning, she woke and noticed she could once more move her arms and legs and she could hear.
She walked into the kitchen and put the percolator on to make a cup of coffee. Then, she saw the hand written note on the table.
"Thanks for yesterday." it said. "Hope you enjoyed it as much as I."
She slowly walked over to the kitchen sink and looked out of the window, with a dreamy look on her face.
'Yes' she thought and sighed, 'I sure did!'
