I've found sometimes the idea of a bondage fantasy is better than the reality.

There was only really one time where myself and an ex girlfriend acted out one of my fantasies and it was actually as good, if not better than my dreams!

We acted out a burglary scenario and she had done some research on it and played the role and ropes perfectly.

I ended up hogtied on her bed and gagged with stuffing (a sock) and duct tape while she pretended to rummage around. Her taunting was immense and at one point, her room-mate came home unexpectedly so she held her hand over my mouth and whispered in my ear that if I tried to shout for help she would have to tie up the innocent roommate as well right next to me.

That improvisation was hot and I was completely helpless and at her mercy!

My minor fantasy my wife indulged was me hogtied, gagged (worn sock stuffed + tape) and used as a foot stool while she read - all because “i wasnt doing enough around the house”. The bondage was fun enough, but the taunting…just wasnt there. It felt forced and unauthentic… ah well! Beggars cant be choosers!

This is pretty much always true the first time you do it with someone. It's something that has to be done a few times so the inhibition wears away from both parties and you really get into it.

Yes her own white sock was used.

The words were something like 'I wasn't expecting anyone else home so stay quiet or I'll have to tie whoever it is up next to you as well'

That sounds really fun! I have done similar things with my wife. One time in particular I went to the shop, I was gone about half an hour. When I got back, she was upstairs "tied up" on the bed, cleave gagged. I removed her gag and she said "They're still here!". I then proceeded to tie her up more thoroughly and tie myself up as best I could, back to back with her. We both struggled like that for a bit and that was great!

it definitely depends on the fantasy. Sometimes the more intricate extrensive ones, end up being clumsier and taking more time/and or just not working like you imagined. I will say there was one that actually did play out like I always wanted. and better yet was a surprise.

I had a partner I told about a fantasy about being tied up, then after blanket mummified and "saved for later". I figured maybe itd be something we could try sometime if they wanted, but I didnt know theyd already planned to and surprised me in the middle of a nap. It was definitely what I always imagined

I totally concur. One of my favourite fantasies is to be a bound and gagged tickle-toy for my wife. The first few times, it was clumsy and silly, but as we got more and more experienced over the years, the actual enactment became better than the fantasy, and new twists have been added. Alas, old-age, work related burnouts, make such perfect enactments less frequent these days...

My point, if it is a perfectly reasonable fantasy to enact, start practising/rehearsing it as soon as possible: nothing beats building up experience, but time does eventually catch-up!
