Tea Lights for Heat Play

I saw a video where someone left lit tea lights on their captive who was unable to shake them off. Has anyone done this before? It seems like something that would get too hot and cause actual damage, not just discomfort (let alone the inherent risk of using fire).

Bang on right about that. Never forget the power of video editing. While a lot of bondage 'porn' videos seem to be done on the cheap, they still use tons, and I do mean tons, of video editing, snipping smaller video clips together, editing out the pauses and breaks and temporary releases and readjustments, etc. to make it look like the captive was bound, in predicament, longer than would actually be safe and under extremely dangerous if not outright insane conditions.

The same can be said for many a story on here, even 'true' stories. No one seems interested in reading paragraphs about the loving, caring, readjustments, released to be massaged and get muscle tone back before being re-tied, captive helping captor with the tie-up, aftercare, etc.

So it goes for videos too. A 10 minute video of a captive bound and gagged and forced to endure tea lights getting hotter against their exposed skin as the wax melts, unable to shake them off, is the sort of predicament video that takes way more time to shoot, perhaps hours of video shoots to produce and edit together, with a lot more people involved than those visible in the video.

Of course, I could be wrong about all that, and what you saw was indeed produced by a bunch of irresponsible and naive amateurs who were literally playing with fire and their lives. But I sincerely hope that what you saw was more of what I initially wrote: something semi-professional, or at least very risk aware and conscientious of the dangers, produced through the magical illusion of video editing.

Makes sense. Thanks for your thoughts on this. Guess I'll be holding off on that tea light purchase :)

The bases of tea lights get very hot. I have had wax dripped on me from them before and got a bit overdone on my bottom, I’m sure some people would enjoy the increased fain it you have to be prepared for blisters and a prolonged recovery possibly. I have had the soles of my feet “roasted” with tea lights but they weren’t directly below so I got the side of the flame not the top.

On the subject of heat play, has an uptime ever been burned by a cigarette? I burnt my arm by accident one so when I see pictures or videos of women having cigarettes flicked on their boobs, or their feet used like an ashtray I really think it’s either stayed or they are real pain massochists who don’t mind permanent scarring or several days to recover.

Tea lights could still be useful, for setting a certain ambiance, or to heat up some fondue ;)

But for heat play, never base it off videos or stories; you need very experienced people, pros at what they do, or as @JulieG mentions, be into (and experienced with) serious pain play willing to suffer 2nd degree burns or worse. I'm a masochist, but even I have my limits, and potential burns are way past those limits.

We must be mindful that what we see in videos, even 'reality' vids, just as what we read, even 'true' tales, have way more going on behind the scenes, unseen and unwritten.
