Stories of Tie Up Games

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this topic, but here it is:

Would anyone be interested in beta reading for me? I'm trying to get back to writing, and I can use some feedback on my stories before I post them out in the wild.

The story I'm currently working on is an M/FM story with only one chapter written. It's different than what I usually write, but if you're interested, comment here so I can send you a DM of the first draft. I'd appreciate some thoughts on my writing, characters and story structure in return.

It all depends how long the draft is. If it's less than about 3000 words, I'll happily have a look at it. Other than that, I don't think I could find the time to give constructive feedback.

The first chapter is a bit under 1000 words. I don't expect any subsequent ones to be longer and there's probably going to be some time between each chapter.

I've always refused to beta-read every time I've been asked to (I get asked quite regularly) because I feel it detracts from this forum's purpose. We are all hobbyist writers. Technically, everything we submit on the forum is here to be "beta" read. All the stories here are just drafts/unpublished works, and the comments are our feedback. But anyways, that's just me.

I don't know if this helps at all, but for the past three years, I've been "beta reading" my own stuff before publishing. I'll write a chapter, prepare it for the board, and make edits and corrections. Once I think it's finalised, I use my web browser's "Read Aloud" feature to have the chapter read back to me. You'd be surprised how many typos I end up spotting and how many sentences I end up tweaking thanks to the "Read Aloud" feature. It's extremely helpful, probably even more so for those of us who, like me, are not native speakers.
