Yes, I Know, a very short story, but I hope You enjoy it



The 14-year-old boy sighed once more from the effort and glanced up at the ceiling. The atmosphere in the room was stifling, humid, and hot. Caleb, sitting on a small wooden bench, could barely move a muscle without the temperature forcing him to sweat more. His black hair was wet and stuck to his forehead; his pale skin had now turned red, especially on his face. Caleb's hands were tied behind his back, and whoever tied him made sure he couldn't use his restless fingers to untie the knots, as he was still wearing the shiny blue boxing gloves he had worn hours earlier during his boxing training.

Yes, Caleb was trapped in the locker room of the boxing gym where he trained every Friday afternoon. He was still wearing his sweaty black T-shirt, his shiny, satiny, soft blue sports shorts, and his white sneakers with black socks, which, luckily, his kidnapper had not used to stuff his mouth.

Caleb's ankles were also tied, as tightly as his thin wrists, and yet he decided to test his endurance and refused to get up from the wooden bench where he was sitting. With the boxing gloves on, it was difficult to try to untie the knots, so his only alternative was to twist his wrists until he found a weak spot where the rope would loosen, but it had been over an hour since he tried.

"Damn, it's hard with these gloves on," Caleb thought as a drop of sweat ran down his cheek covered in silver duct tape. Suddenly, the sweat did its job and caused the wide piece of sticky duct tape to lose its adhesive enough to free his mouth. With that small opening, Caleb took advantage of the flexibility of his thin body and, after a little effort, managed to move his bound hands behind his back until they were in front of him. With the piece of tape hanging from one of his cheeks, Caleb began to gnaw at the rope until he managed to untie the knot that freed him completely. The boy finished peeling the piece of tape off his cheek, which was redder than the rest of his face, while cursing softly at the pain it caused him. He untied the laces of his gloves and took them off before untying his ankles and leaving.

At the exit, Caleb's coach was waiting patiently for him. When he arrived, the boy threw him the ropes that had tied him up a few minutes earlier and smiled at him with an air of victory.

"Make sure you do a better job next time," Caleb said.

The man looked him up and down and ruffled his wet hair before they both left. Caleb had a small celebration waiting for him for his escape feat.

Great short story, Caleb was lucky it wasn't a real kidnapping.

Hopefully there will be another story of Caleb's boxing career.

That's one unusual training method but it seems to be doing wonders for Caleb's confidence. I wonder if he's goading his coach to do a better job next time!

A very efficient piece of writing without the initial boring descriptions we encounter so often. I like the way we learnt things on the way; it kept my interest.

Effective ways to keep his fingers secured from undoing the knots. Thick boxing gloves to act as bondage mittens. Coach should've used his socks as well to gag him. Nice story.

The air in the locker room was thick, hot, permeated with the metallic smell of sweat and leather gloves. Caleb sat on the wooden bench, his arms tied behind his back with tight white ropes, his bright red gloves still on, useless, heavy. Sweat ran down his forehead and mixed with the adhesive that sealed his mouth: a wide strip of silver tape that stuck with brutal precision to every curve of his lips.

"A lot of girls on TikTok asked about you," the coach said a few minutes earlier as he tied the rope around Caleb's wrists.

The boy groaned with the effort and said,

"Are they pretty?"

"Hey, relax, I told them you didn't like to shower," replied the coach as he took a longer piece of rope and began to wrap it around Caleb's chest, pinning his thin arms to his torso. The rope dug into the sweaty fabric of the black T-shirt the boy was wearing. Caleb was also wearing blue satin shorts, red sneakers, and gray socks.

"Are you aware that it's impossible for me to escape if my arms are tied to my torso? Last time I was able to escape because you only tied my wrists."

"Well, you were the one who said I needed to improve at this," said the coach as he tightened the rope band pressing Caleb's arms to his torso. The coach then took his wide roll of duct tape and stretched out a long piece, but not before drying Caleb's sweaty face with a small towel.

"Do you always carry that roll of duct tape with you?" Caleb asked, watching as that wide piece of duct tape got closer and closer to his face.

"Yes, now it's time to shut up." The coach carefully pressed the sticky piece of silver duct tape that molded itself perfectly to the teenager's lips. Caleb could only feel the pull of the tape on his skin.

"Good luck. Learn to endure immobility. Boxing is also about endurance, not just punches," said the coach, patting Caleb's taped cheek before leaving him alone.

The door closed, and Caleb was left alone with the distant hum of the fluorescent lights. Almost 20 minutes had passed and the boy had made no progress. His efforts to escape had only made his shirt and face more drenched in sweat, and even then, the wide strip of tape had not loosened. The gloves seemed heavier and made his hands useless. He sighed, accepting defeat, and remained silent before standing up and hopping his way to the door. With his back turned, Caleb managed to turn the doorknob, with great difficulty due to the shiny gloves. With the door open, he continued hopping down the silent hallway, where only the echoing sound of his sneakers hitting the floor could be heard.


The coach heard the jumping and turned around to see the tall, thin boy, bound and drenched in sweat, jumping toward him with his hair plastered to his forehead. Caleb smiled beneath his tape gag before his coach slowly ripped the strip of duct tape from his mouth.

"Okay, you win," Caleb whispered. A red rectangle stretched from ear to ear where the piece of tape had been firmly stuck.

"I'll think of your punishment," said the coach, and in an unexpected move, he picked Caleb up and carried him on his shoulders to his car, where he placed the boy in the trunk.

Of course I always carry a roll of Duct Tape in case I ever run across an unruly boy wearing boxing gloves that needs to learn the pleasures of "The Sound Of Silence" while riding in the trunk of my car. Silly Boi.

Please continue, Caleb seems to have a tendency to get tied up.
