Cuff Set Nightmare (F/Self)

At the time of writing, this happened five minutes ago.
So some time ago I decided to graduate from improvised, hand-made bindings, and bought myself some ropes, PVC tape, and a set of under-the-bed restraints, the latter of which I just tried properly tonight.
The set is comprised of four Velcro cuffs, and a series of links with which to connect them under the bed. Some of the links are adjustable, presumably so the dom can tighten them as needed. Until now, I've assembled the cuff set so that the adjustable parts are within reach of my hands, so that at any time I could loosen the cuffs and get out. This time, I tried putting it together the other way, which would put them very far out of my reach.
I strapped and tightened the ankle cuffs, then the wrist ones. I had to do them very loosely because I needed both hands to put each one on. Once they were on, though, I was just barely able to grab the other end of the straps that connected the cuffs to one another. I'm not entirely sure how to explain it, but they were engineered such that if I pulled on the other ends the right way, I could tighten down the wrist cuffs. So I did, until my wrists were firmly secured on the corners of the bed.
I enjoyed the sensation while it lasted, pulling on the cuffs and squirming around as one does tied to a bed. Eventually, though, I got tired of this position, and uncuffed myself so I could get out some rope and do something more elaborate.
...
...
FUCK.
Between my four limbs I had maybe a few inches' worth of movement, and it was not enough to do anything useful. I couldn't reach the velcro, I couldn't reach the hooks, I couldn't reach the adjustable things. Not with my hands, not with my feet, not with my mouth. For how easily I could have undone them when they were on the other way, it was extremely humiliating how completely I had trapped myself. I struggled furiously, hoping maybe to slip a limb out or even break one of the cuffs, but absolutely nothing happened. Eventually, I actually, probably miraculously, managed to grab the stray end of the velcro strap that kept the cuff on my right hand closed. It was worth a shot.
Now, I don't want to undersell how little leverage you have trying to undo a cuff with the hand currently inside it. WOW, was it slow. I spent at least ten minutes pulling open the cuff holding down my right wrist. I swear I heard each individual little hair or whatever of the Velcro strap come off as I was doing it. To my horror, though, I eventually lost hold of the strap, and it got stuck to the other side of the Velcro.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck
Who could have thought four little bands could keep someone so absolutely trapped, especially by their own doing? I pulled as hard and as desperately as I could, but I was completely, completely helpless.
Eventually, I started to accept that I was not getting out of this on my own, and I began gearing myself up to call out for help. When I did so, the people on my floor would hear me, and would contact one of a few security staff who would be able to unlock my door and come free me. I would hate to do this, but it seemed like my only option. I did fantasize a little about what it would be like once it happened; someone, knowing nothing about me but worried for my safety, coming into my room and seeing me like this. They would effortlessly open the Velcro strap, freeing my hand, and this would all be over. Hopefully they wouldn't judge.
I really, really didn't want to have to do this, though. I kept feeling around with my right hand, hoping dearly that I could pull up the strap, and by some absolute MIRACLE I found it again. It turned out that it didn't actually get stuck down and I could keep pulling on it.
Five agonizing minutes later, it was loose enough that I could catch it in my teeth, and just barely pull the cuff open. Immediately I tore my left wrist and both ankles out of their binds and collapsed in relieved laughter.
