Depends on what your goal is TBH. Do you want to get secured and have someone take advantage of you physically? Being tied spread-eagle to a bed is a good way to go for that. Because when you're made helpless and your rock-hard cock is pointing straight up, they'll be able to do as they wish.

Do you want to get tied up to wriggle and struggle for a little while as you're being lightly tormented, then released and perhaps put into a second, or even third tie? That has a lot to do with your personal preferences of course. My recommendation would be the classic; A snug box-tie, roped ankles, knees, and perhaps even pulled into a hogtie.

Do you want to get tied up and left that way for a relatively extended period to simply enjoy the feeling? Of course this depends on your physical capabilities; I was with a gal whom I could put into a more secure bondage than what I mentioned above (no hogtie) and she could sit next to me on the couch for literally hours; it was amazing. But most people can't do that, so you'll likely want to go with something more comfortable. I'm a fan of straitjackets (Grace can stay in hers for hours) but they're expensive. However you can make a really good improvised one with a pair of pantyhose and duct tape; I can give you instructions if you're interested.

So far as gags go, sounds like you're going for a mouth-stuffed gag sealed with duct tape. If this is your first time don't get overly ambitious no matter what you may have dreamed of. Whatever you utilize, push the center part in first; you don't want any of the ends coming loose and tickling the back of your throat. For the tape over top, there's the regular duct tape gag and then there's the wrap gag.

For the first you're going to need 6 to 7 strips of duct tape, around 5 or 6 inches long. First piece goes straight across, but pay extra attention to the space over the top lip, under the nose; this is typically the spot where duct tape gags come free initially. Next do a big "X" going from one cheek, across the mouth, then finishing end just under the opposite chin. The next piece goes under the chin, attaching to the sides. Finish with two more pieces straight across the mouth, starting under the nose and finishing at the chin; they'll probably overlap in the middle. Let me tell you, this gag is effective; I perfected it with my last girl and she could never get it off.

The wrap gag can be both easier and harder. If you've got short hair, buzz cut in the back, just wrap it around your head; it'll hurt coming off but that's part of the appeal, right? If you have longer, or very long, hair, put hair spray over the parts of your hair with the tape will wind up; this is trick which professional bondage models use. You can also have the first layer be cling film with duct tape over the top.

I'm going to assume the person tying you up is someone you trust and who knows what they're doing. If so, and this is your first time being tied up, you're in for a real treat (as are they of course). It's been my experience that first-time bindees find it to be a "come to jeezus" moment; many go directly into subspace. Better than sex? Maybe.
