Question for other writers

Has anyone ever had a story pop into their head that was so good you had to write it or feel like your head would explode?
(Embellishment of course)

@Syko Sith Keeping your slight embellishment in mind, I would have to answer in the affirmative.

I have a ton of storyline ideas and, for the past decade and a half or so, have felt compelled to regularly share them. The urge to develop these ideas into full-fledged stories inevitably means I always have a handful of multi-chaptered tales simultaneously in production.

Happened with https://tugstories.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=10644
Was almost automatic writing.
Since, I have started making notes of any "brilliant ideas" for later but that has only resulted in my working on several of them at once. NOT a good idea.

I haven't written a fictional TUG story in years, mostly writing non-TUG fictional stuff. But there's one TUG idea I have right now I can't shake off and might eventually force itself to be written.

Most of my last few stories start that way. I have an idea, or maybe I finally know how to work an old idea into a story. I have to start, and it basically writes itself.
Unfortunately, something in my life will come up, and I have to stop (because I'm now incapable to write anything seriously short). Which leaves those stories unfinished.

I had this especially with The Fraternity and Happy Birthday!. It's so fun when a story just flows.

That's what I was referring to. Sometimes it feels like it's going to find a way to write itself if I don't.

Those are the best kinds of stories. The ones where you literally watch the characters act out everything. I asked the question after writing a Dragon Age one shot fanfic. I'm mulling over turning it into a complete story. Can't post it here (no tugs, at least not yet )

This one for me will lie dormant for some time, then some more of it forces its way out. But it's odd I have to be in that mood to write it.

I've been there too. There are times when much like @bondagefreak and @xtc123 I have too many ideas to focus on 1. That's when my mood dictates what I write.
I'm pretty sure I mentioned just getting through a long drought due to writers block. The ironic part is I read a fanfic that broke the dam as it were.
