You are not wrong as this seems to be a common issue for many. I to was in the same boat for the longest time but I actually do have a tug/bondage friend not far from me. But even with him being close, it doesn't come without its own setbacks. Neither of us lives alone, therefore we are limited when we can meet up. He's also a 100% sub so if I do get in the mood to switch, I can't do so with him (I'm dom leaning so that's okay). I have another friend that's a sub leaning switch but he also doesn't have private living arrangements and is almost 1,000 miles away. So that takes planing a trip to an almost midway location for both tugs/bondage and other non related normal everyday stuff. So currently we only meet about once a year.
Would love to grow my tug friend group a little bit more but it's definitely hard to find local or semi local people. Hard to find people with the same bondage tastes. Even harder if like myself, are not interested in sex. Definitely shrinks the number of people you can connect with. But atleast it's not impossible!

There's no kink scene near me and almost everyone woman nearby into tie ups is taken or just posting content. I have a friend who would love to be tied up and only lives 70 miles or about an hour forty five away. But I am married and have no intention of cheating on my wife.

I agree that it is hard to find people to find to do bondage or tie ups in general. I am very submissive so that limits my options, but I am also asexual so that fact I want there to be no sex is another hinderance. Also, I am male which is another hinderance. So many things working against me, lol!

It definitely feels that way for me. I would love to have a bondage buddy purely for bondage, but sadly most people just want sex. Nothing wrong with bondage for sex, but I just want to be tied up, ya know? Perfect meetup for me, is to show up to the captors home, have them tie me up and tightly gag me, and then just leave me like that while they go on with their day as if nothing happened lol

I've been active in the scene since 2007. Found myself single, without a kinky partner, four times. None lasted more than six months.
Once you become active in your local scene, finding partners is pretty easy. Finding long-term partners can be trickier, especially as you get older (I'm 58, my girl is 61).
While I was single, I never lacked for play partners.
So to everyone who can't find someone, I'd argue you're doing it wrong.

This has always fascinated me. Depending on which study you reference through the past couple decades, anywhere between 10 and 30 percent of people indicate some level of interest in bondage…whether tying someone else up, or being tied up. So, just in my neighborhood of 100 or so houses/townhomes/condos, statistically speaking…there’s a small handful of people who would enjoy TUGs or being bondage buddies.
However, since the idea of TUGs and engaging in bondage between adults has a deeply sexual connotation to it…it’s not like flyers can be posted like they can be for other clubs…running, chess, or whatever. Which I get…but it is frustrating when many folks here aren’t aren’t seeking anything from a sexual perspective, but just want to tie/be tied…because it’s intrinsically just a fun, enjoyable thing to do (like any other hobby).
To further illustrate the point that there are like-minded people around…my wife and I have two women friends in our neighborhood. One we’ve known for about 10 years (as the mom of our daughter’s friend from preschool) and another neighbor. A couple years ago, my wife got to talking about our (my) interests…and quickly found out that both our neighbors are, in fact, also pretty kinky. We’re not interested in doing anything with them, but it’s still a lot of fun to talk about with them.
Anyway, wishing you luck in your search for a bondage buddy. They’re around…keep on the lookout!

Sometimes, what's worse is they seem to be only interested in tying females and that's the male doms. I am a male sub who only wants to be tied by other guys.

It's easier if you live in a big city it would be easy if you are on the dating scene probably very easy to get a tug partner

You're not wrong lol. Seems most ppl are either far away or out of country. Doublely difficult if you like tying girls. Finding a female actually interested in meeting up for casual tie up stuff is rarer than a truthful politician. Any the few ya do meet online are more often than not a catfish. But oh well, it's just how it can be online. Makes it all the more amazing when you do find that good friend you rly connect with

Absolutely seems impossible to find anyone close. I used to drive as much as 4-6 hours to get tied up. I ended up doing way long-term sessions to make the trip worth it lol. Then I met my partner and we live together now, so that’s not a problem anymore 
Always seemed like there were way more subs online, but way more doms actually willing to follow through irl lol
