Rope, all the way. Yes okay tape, I don't hate it but given the choice I'd never pick it.

Rope just feels more secure, tighter.

And besides which my name isn't 'TapeBunny'

I find it hard to choose between them honestly...
As a compromise - rope for bindings, tape for gags.

Rope for tying, tape for gagging, their underwear for stuffing.

Tape is faster and looks great when each limb is taped to something. Rope however seems more secure and is highly reusable.
