Thanks for continuing to donate, folks.
Now is the season for giving. Let's see if we can provide @chadmc90 with a security blanket for next year.

I know this post was for donations in the previous couple of years but so glad the site is back up and just sent some money as a donation! Happy to chip in and keep this place going and support the great work you do to keep it up and running!

Does the gofundme still work? I would be happy to donate, but I am not comfortable using Paypal as it reveals my real name. Thanks!

Just sent you a donation via PayPal for 2025. (It's from the email address that begins with "lj".) It's not much, but I felt that, after the two weeks of down time, I should contribute something to the maintenance of this wonderful site.

There is a way to donate more respectful of anonymity?

@Beaumains and @Bastian, I have asked @chadmc90 whether the GoFundMe account still works.

I don't have a paypal account. If there is a GoFundMe account that still works, I'd donate there myself.

Hey @chadmc90
Hope you're doing good.

It might be a good idea to start a new thread with the link to the new GoFundMe. Either that, or update the title + opening post of this one.

I noticed the "Site Down/Donation Campaign 2025" announcement on the front page. If the listed costs for the web site are accurate, it seems you're essentially being robbed by your web hosting provider. A niche forum like this should cost more like 1/10 of the listed total cost.

I strongly recommend moving the web site to a more-reputable, modern web hosting provider, like Netcup or Hetzner (both are often recommended for their VPS hosting plans). Their lowest web hosting plans should be enough (and even their highest plans cost far less than what your current provider is charging). You'll also need to migrate the phpBB forum database to the new provider, but the phpBB web site has an article in their Knowledge Base with instructions.

I'm piggybacking on this thread to thank Chad for all that he has done for this site, especially getting it back up. I understand that he has also been going through some rough times with family.

Thank you, Chad. You do a wonderful job for us all here. My thoughts are with you!
