My dumbass forgot I read the final chapter and was side tracked just before I was going to comment and didn't actually comment....
So overall I did enjoy this story! As I previously stated, the beatings weren't my usual cup of coffee but it did get me thinking about how society would be if such laws had been implemented. Would crime be less. Would criminals be even more sneaky vs the boldness they seem to have these days. Kind of irrelevant but definitely had me thinking some on that. I was actually hoping to see more interaction with Patrick and Jeremy at the end but I did have quite a chuckle at the last remarks about how Jeremy thought Patrick probably wouldn't want to be tied up that night

The state never makes mistakes!
Perhaps here but I think we all know that's not always the case in real life!

I suspect that there has to be some sort of punishment for such false reporting/perjury. After all, the system only works if there is societal buy-in. If there is too much abuse of the system by the citizens, too much revenge/lying, the system falls apart. I can only imagine how severe the gags would be for convicted liars and malcontents to the system...
In a society like this, there would have to be severe punishment to keep that from happening. But in my opinion, the state would still need full transparency with its citizens to keep things in check. But the gags for such convicted liars, all I can think of is yikes! I wonder if
@Xtc has any super strict/humiliation gags he was holding out on here
