A (UK) CITV series from 1991 called Time Riders, with Haydn Gwynne and her young companion in various peril scenarios (firing squad, burned at the stake, etc). I don't think it was my initial bondage spark but it stuck with me; I even got the tie-in novel. It's currently up on YouTube.
