A lot of Cameron Diaz comments - the amount of times I watched her spit out that like/green ball in Head Above Water when I was younger... Shockingly good stuffing for a gag for that kind of movie. Only wish we saw it inserted too

I've got some drafts in the works, but I think I still have a fondness for 'amateur' materials because of childhood TUGs. Duct tape, karate belts, and the like. Now the only difference are the ballgag I add if the bound can't escape!

A gag is definitely necessary, but what the gag is and needs to achieve can change over the course of the scene.

As others have already said, the most important first step is to get the wrists tied behind their back. Depending on the setup, something fast might be preferred. Cuffs, zip ties, tape ...

Agreed the second gag is a better fit, but the look of the first one is enthralling too. With a larger gag, I prefer when it has some squish to it - the sub can chew on it for some relief, but it does always spring into place. Pete Pistols ballgag have a great squish/expand to them

In Ready Player One, the protagonist is ballgagged when arrested to prevent him from giving verbal commands to his computer. Love that that's just standard protocol in that world

A large rubber ball for me (someone else can pick the colour), so long as it has a lockable buckle and head straps to tie my head back in a strict hogtie I'm assuming a chin strap is a given with the harness.
