Don't worry about pacing, not everything has to be action packed, and even a chapter without anyone being tied up is fine.

What exactly did Ethan even do? That grudge Noah has seems pretty out of proportion.

Another fun chapter! I tend not to guess, how stories develop, I find it interesting enough to just watch them unfold. But I do hope that Ethan comes back. Sure, getting away would help win the game for his group, but I feel like he should try to protect them from Noahs bullying as good as he can.
